Welcome to the Weekly Wrap Up, a weekly series where I go over all of the highlights in the Liquity ecosystem. This issue covers the week of 5/3–5/9.

What is Liquity? Liquity is a decentralized borrowing protocol that allows you to draw 0% interest loans against Ether used as collateral. Learn more.

System Overview

  • Liquity has 1.13M ETH locked — $4.6B as of 5/10.
  • ETH’s recent price rise has continued to push the Total Collateral Ratio (TCR) of the system upward — now at ~295%. This also has the knock-on effect of enabling borrows to get more LUSD for their ETH.
  • There are 7 days left and ~219,594 LQTY remaining of the LUSD/ETH LP rewards on Uniswap V2 as of this writing.
  • Over the past week or so LUSD has hovered slightly below peg, opening up arbitrage opportunities through redemptions. If you want to avoid being affected by redemptions, read Understanding Liquity’s Redemption Mechanism.

Integrations

  • The LUSD Metapool on Curve continues to impress — climbing comfortably above $220M in liquidity, allowing for large stablecoin to stablecoin swaps.

Content

  • Last week I released the Liquity Newsletter for April 2021, which also happened to be a celebration of Liquity’s first month live. Read it here.
  • One of Liquity’s earliest investors, Tomahawk.VC, released the first of a mini-series they put together covering our launch — WHAT IS LIQUITY? [VC Diaries#2: The Liquity Launch].
  • Community moderator, Derrick, released a diagram illustrating how funds flow in Liquity’s Stability Pool and LQTY Staking Pool. View it here.
  • Derrick also a released a visual timeline highlighting Liquity’s integration and TVL milestones during our first month live. View it here.
  • Currently, Liquity protocol is the best trustless, permissionless & decentralised protocol. There is no governance, that is how a trustless protocol should be.” — Longlongfld on Twitter.
